Chief Executive Officer
Paul founded GMobi in early 2011 when he saw the huge demand of mobile content and software services in emerging market. Before founding GMobi, Paul worked for a global internet platform and service development team at MediaTek, responsible for building up mobile service ecosystem with Google/Facebook/Yahoo/Tencent/Baidu for MediaTek chipset. Prior to MediaTek, Paul helped Foxconn to acquire a mobile internet company so it can enter into mobile software business. Before joining Foxconn group, Paul was PocketNet CEO , he successfully turn around the company in three years.
During 2000 to 2005, Paul spent 6 years in Beijing working with Tom.com group, a company specialized in mobile content service with Nokia and China Mobile in China, Tom is owned by HK Tycoon Li Kashing Hutchison group. Paul received his MBA degree from Netherlands Rotterdam School of Management and a bachelor degree in Agri-Economics at National Taiwan University.
Chief Operating Officer
Ben Liao is co-founder and chief operating officer of General Mobile, Ben is in charge of mobile game business, strategic partnership building, and investment related engagement. Ben Liao has abundant experience in finance and mobile internet industry. He was a consultant at Mckinsey, focused on integration and organization study of financial industry. At Prolto Supply Chain Company, Ben was managing director of innovation department, specialized in new business development and investment strategy. Before founding General Mobile, Ben was vice president of Beijing Digital Grid Ltd, a Sequoia Capital portfolio company, which provides mobile address book solution, he was responsible for international business development. Ben is also an angel investor in mobile internet industry. Ben Liao received his master degree of financial economics from Oxford University.
Chief Marketing Officer
Richard Wang carries extensive experiences in the high-tech industry across marketing, strategy, M&A and engineering. Prior to joining GMobi in 2012, Richard was the head of Corporate Business Development at MediaTek, responsible for all corporate strategic M&As and investments. His portfolios cover companies in the fields of mobile internet, semiconductors, telecommunications and a lot more. During 2006 to 2008, Richard served as a consultant at McKinsey & Co. He participated various strategic initiatives for global leading companies in semiconductor, consumer electronics and EMS businesses. Richard is an engineer in training. He has six years of experiences as R&D engineer both in software development and IC design field. He holds Master’s degree of Electrical and Computer Engineering from University of Texas at Austin as well as MBA degree from Santa Clara University in California, USA and a bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering in National Taiwan University.
Managing Director - India and South Asia.
Amit has been in Telecom industry for the last 20 years and have spent most of his time in building products and business from scratch. The mobile internet boom riding on smart phones is something Amit sensed early for India market and joined hand with GMobi in 2012 to help GMobi’s expansion in the region and becomes a market leader. Amit now leads the South Asia region for GMobi and has succeeded in making GMobi the first choice for FOTA, Go2Reach and Telco billing solution for all Tier 1 to Tier 3 local OEMs. He continues to focus on building greater relationship with all the stakeholders in this eco system - OEMs, Telcos and App partners and developer networks.
Amit joined GMobi from Buongiorno (later renamed Lumata) where he was the CEO for their APAC JV with Mitsui. To his credit, Amit turned around this loss and making JV into a strong growth and profitable entity in 2 years’ time, which helped Mitsui and Buongiorno make successful exit by selling to Francisco Partner, USA and NTT Docomo. Amit was Country Manager for India and Head of Sales in OnMobile as part of the founding member team where he defined and helped build their most successful product Ring Back Tone and signed up all the customers in India - the top Telcos, content partners, media companies. As Global Sales Head, he worked for building customers and business in Indonesia, Bangladesh, Dubai, Eastern Europe and Latam. OnMobile went public in 2008 and at its peak it was valued $500mil.
Amit worked with Nokia and Ericsson in 1990s as Project Manager and Account Manager in rolling out GSM network in India and Indonesia for top Telcos.
Amit has an engineering degree from Jadavpur University, Calcutta and did his MBA from IIM, Calcutta.
VP of Business Development- Russia and CIS Countries
Graduated from Saint-Petersburg State Technical University, Sergei has broad experiences in the VAS business development, building of business strategy and partnership, proven communicative skills.
Proven success in developing best practices for creation of mobile services and management of the subordinated departments, in communication and IT systems design, mobile content production, management of mobile systems and services development processes. Big personnel portfolio of business contacts in different markets.
Expertise in managing procurement and project, product and marketing teams to achieve goals and objectives. Developed and implemented high-value and cost effective programs. Highly skilled at providing coaching to all parts involved to project.
VP of Engineering
Before joining GMobi, Jacky worked as a chief architect for Barefoot Software Ltd, a company based in Monaco providing mobile publishing and browser solutions. Jacky leads a talent team to develop a cross platform browser engine for iOS, Android, Symbian, Windows Mobile, Blackberry, J2ME and MTK phones.
Before Barefoot Software, Jacky is an architect for Rayonnance Technologies, based in Paris, a mobile enterprise solution provider. Jacky developed a Smart Mobile Data Sync Framework, which is a core component to synchronize mobile devices with enterprise existing IT infrastructure. It was an award winning solution and served many customers include SNCF, Air Liquide, Lafarge Group etc. Jacky received his master degree in telecommunication from L'ENSEA(École nationale supérieure de l'électronique et de ses applications) in France and a bachelor's degree from Zhejiang University in China.
